Cathy- I loved the loop that your sound journey took me on- from the running at the start to the running at the end. I also love the repetition of the train noises and how they bridged together all of the organic noises. Your insect noises are also fabulous- for a minute I thought a fly or bee was actually nearby (and didn't realize it was your recording!) Thank you for sharing this piece.
Your approach to the assignments are so creative and so technologically expert. I loved the train piece. I am a counter, so I internalized the 1234 of the running, the train moving.. and , as the listener, my heart stopped as I waited for the next sound to interrupt the semi-silence. Would it be a bird? Walking? the train.? Although I tried to create a narrative, I could not, which made the compilation more interesting. Did you make the train?
